DC Studios co-head James Gunn has been a very busy man lately with the release of SUPERMAN over the summer as well as PEACEMAKER Season 2 currently debuting new episodes on HBO Max. It appears not many in Hollywood are working as hard as he is right now. The reason? He is already moving forward with his SUPERMAN sequel, titled MAN OF TOMORROW, while also overseeing new projects coming to his DCU movie universe.
In an interview with The Howard Stern Show, via THR, Gunn teased what the next film in his 'Superman Saga' will entail as well as when filming will commence.
“It is a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat,” he said. “And it’s more complicated than that. It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie. I relate to the character of Lex, sadly."...I am creating the Superman sequel that we’re starting to shoot in April or so.… I’m done writing that for the most part.”
MAN OF TOMORROW is set to release in theaters on July 9, 2027.
