In a bit of news that has caught everyone off-guard, Marvel Studios has announced they will be delaying the release of both AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and AVENGERS: SECRET WARS from May to December.
Deadline reports:
"Marvel Studios is pushing back the release of its next two Avengers films, directed by the Russo Brothers. Avengers: Doomsday has moved from May 1 to December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027."Insiders noted that these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision. Disney/Marvel elected for December dates, given the success they’ve had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home. Avengers: Doomsday is in production now."
More time to make sure two new Avengers movies meet expectations of fans everywhere isn't a bad thing... it's the waiting longer now that sucks.
