SDCC 2022: Warner Bros. Discovery Will Not Have Show Floor Booths This Year For TV, Movies, or DC Comics

Ladies and gentlemen, we are nearing the home stretch for the first San Diego Comic-Con International in three years! However, this version of the world's biggest comic convention won't be like the same old SDCC you remember, even from three years ago.

According to an exclusive by The Hollywood Reporter, the nearly formed company that is now called Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will be in attendance for the event, but they will not have any show floor booths for Warner Bros. or for DC Comics. (!!!)

THR reports:

"For the first time, Warners, including DC, will have no presence on the convention floor, a move that breaks with decades of precedent. The company had one of the bigger presences on the floor, with movie and TV costumes on display.

"In some years, A-list stars such as the cast of Justice League or Watchmen appeared for signings. Another big change: the CW shows, such as Flash, Superman & Lois, or the upcoming Supernatural prequel, will be absent as that broadcast network is facing a possible sale and had cancelled many of its shows.

"Warner Bros. Discovery’s presence at Comic-Con is intended to reassure fans that the company still has them top of mind, even as the merger remakes executive ranks and aligns the company’s divisions — including HBO Max, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC — in a new direction."

A shocking development, I know, but WBD will still have plenty of panels at SDCC which will include: House of the Dragon, The Sandman, Riverdale, Jim Lee and Friends, Gotham, the Gotham Knights video game, Cartoon Network, Rick & Morty: The Vindicators, and several others.

Maybe WBD will be back on the show floor for SDCC 2023, but nobody knows what the newly formed company has in mind for future SDCC appearances.
