DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Pauses Production as the Pandemic Rages on in the U.K.

We would all love to have a much better 2021 than 2020, but it seems unlikely to be substantially better for the movie business as an unfortunate, and continued, effect of the still-ongoing-pandemic is the fact that live action productions will struggle to keep things going. And often times will have to hit the pause button.

This is exactly the case with DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS as actress Elizabeth Olsen was on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! and confirmed the production has halted for a moment as virus cases continue to surge in the U.K. where filming is taking place.

"Since the hospitals are overwhelmed here, we can't go back to work until that calms down... [I'm] just safely hanging out here, and just really grateful I get to be working. Disney has kept me busy during quarantine!"

There is no word yet on if this pause in production will further delay the release of the DOCTOR STRANGE sequel, but the likelihood of it happening is going to be a high possibility throughout 2021.

DOCTOR STRANGE 2 is currently set to release on March 25, 2022.
