JOKER Joins the $1 Billion Club

JOKER has broke through into the $1 Billion Club worldwide while big name superhero team-ups like BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE could not. Crazy to type that, but it is the truth.

JOKER is celebrating this unimaginable achievement as it surpassed the $1 billion barrier over the weekend and now sits with $1.016 billion globally. This means JOKER joins the ranks of fellow DC movies in the Billionaire Club: AQUAMAN, THE DARK KNIGHT, and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

Think about this for a moment... a low budget comic book-inspired movie did better than films where fans saw the DC Trinity (Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman) team up together on the big screen. Style can only get you so far without solid character writing and meaningful substance behind said character.

Congrats to all involved with the JOKER. And while Phillips and Phoenix have mentioned they would be interested in returning for a sequel, would it even be worth the studio cash grab to potentially dilute what has been accomplished with the success of JOKER?
