Warner Media Announces GREEN LANTERN Series and STRANGE ADVENTURES Anthology For HBO Max

HBO Max might not be coming until May 2020, but now is the time productions begin and announcements of new content are made in the marketing cycle leading up to launch.

Warner Media will lean hard on their DC Universe to bring new series to the streaming service. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW and DC producer Greg Berlanti will oversee a new GREEN LANTERN series as well as a DC anthology series called STRANGE ADVENTURES.

Berlanti is on record, via THR, saying:

"Both of these original DC properties we’ll be creating for HBO Max will be unlike anything seen on television. An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet."

Berlanti did co-write the screenplay for actor Ryan Reynolds' GREEN LANTERN movie, so some cautious optimism is needed here.
