JOKER Surpasses JUSTICE LEAGUE and MAN OF STEEL in Global Box Office Gross

Joaquin Phoenix's JOKER movie continues to have an unimaginable amount of box office success.

In its third weekend of release, JOKER has pulled in approximately $117 million globally.

This brings the worldwide tally for JOKER to $737 million surpassing both recent Warner Bros. and DC film releases MAN OF STEEL ($668M) and JUSTICE LEAGUE ($657M). You read that right... JOKER has made more than Zack Snyder's Superman movie and the JUSTICE LEAGUE team-up amalgamation disaster from both Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon.

At this rate, JOKER should surpass the all-time top grossing R-rated movie worldwide, easily. DEADPOOL 2 holds that title with its $785M.

Made for a mere $55 million (reportedly), this makes JOKER a bonafide blockbuster movie in every way as it has exceeded pretty much all financial expectations.

Next up is quite obvious as the studio will most likely go all-in to bring more smaller budget DC character pieces similar to JOKER to the forefront of its production plans. Whether or not this means a sequel for the JOKER is unknown, but Phoenix recently said he would be open to returning to the role for another one.
