OBI-WAN KENOBI Streaming Series Nabs One of THE MANDALORIAN Directors



Lucasfilm has officially announced they have found their director for the Disney+ streaming series OBI-WAN KENOBIDeborah Chow, who is fresh off her stint directing two episodes of the upcoming THE MANDALORIAN series which is the mega-launch-title for Disney+ on November 12, has landed the gig.

KENOBI (official title still unknown) will take place eight years after the events of STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH.

Per the press release:

"Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy stated, 'We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga. Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I’m absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story.'"

KENOBI will reportedly begin filming in the first half of 2020.
