Taika Waititi Will Write and Direct THOR 4

Leading up to this week's San Diego Comic-Con International there can be a few good and juicy news bits that leak out early... and this most definitely qualifies as such. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios is bringing THOR: RAGNAROK helmer Taika Waititi back to both write and direct THOR 4.

Actor Chris Hemsworth is expected to reprise his role as the God of Thunder after Waititi brought new life into the character in Ragnarok. That character progression also continued in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and AVENGERS: ENDGAME. Hemsworth has stated many times that his passion to continue as Thor has been re-invigorated thanks to Waititi.

There's also a chance Hemsworth could make an appearance (or cameo) in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 as he was last seen traveling with Star-Lord and the others into space at the closing of Endgame.

Hemsworth is one of the last remaining original Avengers after Captain America sought retirement after traveling back into the past and staying there to be with Peggy Carter, Black Widow sacrificed herself, and Tony Stark made the ultimate sacrifice to beat Thanos and his army.

It makes perfect sense to give Thor more screen time now and that seems like exactly what Hemsworth, Waititi, and Marvel Studios are aiming for with this news of THOR 4 going into development.
