AQUAMAN Has Smallest Second Weekend Drop Off of Any DCEU Movie; Nears $750 Million Worldwide

King of the seas and King of the box office as AQUAMAN finishes atop the domestic weekend box office for the second weekend in a row.

The film took in an estimated $51 million but the real lede here is how AQUAMAN finished with the smallest second weekend drop off of any previous DC Extended Universe movie. Previously, WONDER WOMAN held that crown as her film only had a second weekend drop of 43-percent. The worst second weekend drop off is BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE which dropped 69-percent.

AQUAMAN has brought in over $188 million domestically so far.

Overseas, the movie is still strong earning $85 million for an International total of $560 million.

Worldwide, AQUAMAN has took in over $748 million surpassing JUSTICE LEAGUE ($657M), MAN OF STEEL ($668M), and SUICIDE SQUAD ($746M). Only WONDER WOMAN ($821M) and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN ($873M) stand above AQUAMAN.

AQUAMAN is a much needed course correction for the DCEU and reports of Warner Bros. moving forward with AQUAMAN 2 are well deserved.
