THE FLASH Production Gets Pushed Back Due to FANTASTIC BEASTS Franchise

Actor Ezra Miller is committed to two big movie franchises right now. One is about to release a new movie next month when FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD hits theaters and the other has been in a state of development for several years now.

The other franchise is THE FLASH and Variety is reporting it will not start production in early 2019 as previously planned. It will take a backseat to Miller's involvement to the Fantastic Beasts franchise as its third film in the franchise will begin filming in summer of 2019 and THE FLASH would overlap productions with it if it were to start production in early 2019.

Variety writes:

"That’s a problem, because Ezra Miller, the live-wire performer tasked with playing the Flash, also has a key supporting role in 'Fantastic Beasts,' the 'Harry Potter' spin-off series. The third film in the franchise begins shooting in July, which would cause scheduling headaches. The standalone Flash film is now expected to commence production in late 2019. That likely means the superhero adventure won’t debut in theaters until some time in 2021."

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are set to helm and direct THE FLASH so they have more time to fine-tune its script before cameras start rolling.

No official release date has been set for THE FLASH by Warner Bros.
