Bidding Wars: Fox Accepts Disney Counter Offer to Comcast Bid Last Week

Fox's assets are a hot commodity right now as Disney initially put in a massive $52 billion bid this past December, but just last week Comcast made an official offer of $65 billion to start this bidding war.

Up for grabs are Fox's film and TV studios, their 30-percent stake in Hulu, European satellite broadcaster Sky, FX Network, National Geographic, as well as several International channels and regional sports networks.

Now, Disney has upped their bid to counter Comcast with a $71 billion bid that includes taking on some of Fox's debt to raise the overall bid to approximately $85 billion. Bloomberg reports Fox has accepted this new offer by Disney putting all the pressure back onto Comcast to see if they can even counter Disney's counteroffer.

If Disney is able to prevail then they will become owners of the majority of Hulu and Sky, as well as acquire rights to huge franchise moneymakers like THE SIMPSONS, AVATAR, and of course all-things mutant with Marvel's X-MEN rights and rights to Marvel's FANTASTIC FOUR returning back home to Marvel Studios.
