Ryan Reynolds is Still Pressuring Hugh Jackman to Return as WOLVERINE in a Movie With DEADPOOL

Actor Hugh Jackman had his swan song in the role of Wolverine in last year's send-off movie, LOGAN. But that hasn't stopped actor Ryan Reynolds from continuously pressuring Jackman to return to the role just one more time. Reynolds really wants Wolverine and Deadpool in a movie together to right the wrongs done in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE to Reynolds' previous (and embarrassing) version of the Deadpool character.

Reynolds spoke with Entertainment Weekly about pushing his good friend (in real life) Jackman to come back just one more time.

“He’s alive and well in [the Deadpool franchise] timeline. There is a Logan running around out there with a little bushy chest and his little sharpy, sharpy claws, and he is alive and well and ready to go. I would love that.

“I think convincing Hugh of that would be a near-impossible feat, but there’s no human being I love more than Hugh Jackman in that universe, and equally so as a friend. He’s just the best. I already miss him as Logan, so I’m one of those guys that whenever I see him, I’m like, ‘Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We’ll do it together. It’ll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,’ and it’s always just me saying it.”

Fans can only hope the constant pestering from Reynolds will eventually change Jackman's mind, or at least he'll get annoyed enough to return.

But at the very least, let's see Jackman have a cameo as either himself or as Wolverine. Even just having a quick appearance of Jackman could be enough fan service as long as it can be kept a surprise for when moviegoers are seeing it for the first time in their theater seat. It was done in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and it was one of the best and funniest scenes in the movie, so it can be done again. Although this is all just hopeful speculation at this point.

DEADPOOL 2 opens in the U.S. on May 18.
