BATGIRL Movie Has a New Writer

Writer and director Joss Whedon has been out on the BATGIRL movie since February, citing that he couldn't crack the story. However, Warner Bros. has found a new writer for the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christina Hodson will take over script duties for BATGIRL. Hodson has previously written the script for the upcoming TRANSFORMERS franchise spin-off movie BUMBLEBEE, as well as worked on the script for actress Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn spin-off movie formerly called BIRDS OF PREY.

BATGIRL will feature Gotham City police commissioner Jim Gordon's daughter Barbara in the title role.

As of the publishing of this post, there is no release date or timeframe set for BATGIRL.
