BLACK PANTHER did not freeze in his opening weekend as his first solo film will be breaking February movie release records in its domestic opening.

The film is estimated to bring in a 3-day domestic opening weekend total at $194 million (per Deadline). This number is absolutely huge when you realize it will become the fifth biggest 3-day opening weekend ever, without inflation.

This means BLACK PANTHER would only be behind STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS ($247M), STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI ($220M), JURASSIC WORLD ($208M), and THE AVENGERS ($207M).

At $194 million, BLACK PANTHER would also break February domestic box office records set by DEADPOOL just two years ago. It will be the biggest February opening weekend and biggest 4-day President's Day opening weekend.

Its 4-day estimated total could be as high as $223 million. This beats the 4-day total for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON which took in $204 million. Although, Deadline also reports that this estimate could go as high as $230 million, which would then surpass the 4-day total THE AVENGERS took in with $226 million. By the way, in case you forgot, THE AVENGERS is Marvel Studios' highest grossing film both domestically and worldwide.

An amazing achievement, for sure, and once the official totals are in on Monday, I will update you with another post including its overseas and worldwide haul.
