Disney Has Reportedly Closed the Deal to Buy Fox's Assets Which Include All-Things X-MEN and FANTASTIC FOUR Coming to Marvel Studios

According to International Business Times, citing CNBC via MCU Exchange, the deal seems to be done; although it has yet to be confirmed by the Mouse House. Disney is reportedly finalizing a deal to buy Fox's assets which include their movie studio, TV production company, FX networks, National Geographic, Fox's stake in Hulu and a few other odds and ends.

The most important parts of this purchase are the 30-percent stake in Hulu — bringing Disney's stake to a controlling 60-percent, which could force Comcast to sell off their remaining minority stake giving Disney full ownership of the streaming service — as well as the franchise rights to AVATAR — whose portion of Disney's Animal Kingdom park opened earlier this year — and most importantly the live action movies rights to all-things X-Men and Fantastic Four.

That's right Marvel fans... the X-Men, Wolverine, Deadpool, the Fantastic Four, Dr. Doom, Galactus, Silver Surfer, and hundreds of other Marvel characters are coming home to Disney and Marvel Studios for Christmas!

In a separate report from Deadline, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is said to be "eager" to get his hands on the X-Men and all the other Marvel characters who will be under his, and his executive team's, creative control. This means big things could be in play for Marvel Studios' Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of AVENGERS 4 conclude.

The official announcement of this deal is reportedly coming any day now. Yet there is no word on how this could affect the future of Fox's R-rated Marvel movies like DEADPOOL 2, X-23 and X-FORCEDEADPOOL 2 is in post-production right now and will release in the summer, but X-FORCE — which is said to co-star Deadpool and Josh Brolin's Cable in a hard-edged Black Ops-type of X-Men movie — is still in development and its future is now unknown since Disney has never released an R-rated Marvel film.
