JUSTICE LEAGUE Extensive Reshoots Reportedly Causing Problems and Cost the Price of a Mid-Budget Movie

Oh Warner Bros. ... why can't you just catch a break? Especially after all the positive vibes WONDER WOMAN has generated the past few weeks.

According to Variety, there, once again, problems due to its extensive reshooting schedule which is being dragged out over several months now with no signs of ending. Usually, reshoots are pre-planned and scheduled in advance so cast members know when not to schedule their next movie project so they can return to a couple weeks reshoots. But JUSTICE LEAGUE reshoots have reportedly been going on for months now, and at the alleged price of $25 million, which is the cost of a mid-budget feature film.

This new report says the extensive nature of these reshoots, by new director Joss Whedon — who took over for director Zack Snyder when he lost his daughter in spring — are causing problems for some of the actors, especially Henry Cavill. Right now, Cavill is filming the next installment in the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise and he has a mustache for his role. Warner Bros. will have to digitally remove Cavill's mustache from additional reshoots Whedon needs him to do as Superman. (Someone please leak a set photo of a mustached Superman! The Internet needs to see that.)

It has been previously reported that Whedon was brought on by Snyder months ago in order to help him with dialogue and to script needed reshoots. Whedon has been working on JUSTICE LEAGUE for months now and he has punched up the dialogue as well as wrote new "connective tissue" scenes to help the flow of the movie. It is now rumored he will get a co-directing credit with Snyder. Or at the very least Whedon will get a screenwriting credit along with a dump truck full of cash.

This is all sounding like Whedon could very well be changing more of the movie than expected. Initially, it was reported that JUSTICE LEAGUE would still be a Snyder film with Whedon maintaining his vision and tone. Now, do we really believe this to still be true as reshoots continue? It is getting increasingly harder to believe that.

All of this news is unfortunate since Warner Bros. can't seem to find its groove in making their DCEU films without a crazy amount of reshoots, behind-the-scenes drama talk and newly scripted scenes to improve its superhero movies; with the exception of WONDER WOMAN. It is such a trend now it's starting to feel like they might be pushing scripts through to being green lit too fast without making sure the story is solid before cameras roll. Obviously, this can be viewed as a direct result of the pressure Marvel Studios' well-oiled machine is putting on Warner Bros. to compete with them.

All the positivity San Diego Comic-Con 2017 provided JUSTICE LEAGUE and its newest trailer seems washed away now with this new report.
