AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Will Have a 90s Smash-And-Grab Heist Movie Feel

After two straight weeks of amazing reveals, from Disney's D23 Expo and SDCC, for next summer's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, it's been a great time to be a fan of Marvel Studios movies. This past weekend, at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, co-director Joe Russo teased ComicBook about the next Avengers film and where it will get some of its film genre influence.

"Structurally, with this first film, Avengers 3, we’ve been using smash and grab ’90s heist films... There’s a real urgency to the film and it adds a level of excitement and relentlessness to the movie. It’s a lot of divergent narratives coming together into a climax."

Sounds like Thanos will have 'smashed and grabbed' his way to a full collection of Infinity Stones by the end of the film. Which will leave fans hanging for more until the summer 2019 when everything that has previously happened in the MCU concludes in AVENGERS 4.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR releases in the U.S. on May 4, 2018.
