GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Opens in the U.S. With $145 Million and Already at $427 Million Globally



Estimates are in for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 and it has opened to nearly $145 million in the U.S. placing it fifth on Marvel Studios' bigger domestic opening weekend list. It sits only behind THE AVENGERS ($207M), AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON ($191M), CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR ($179M) and IRON MAN 3 ($174M).

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 has already made more domestically than 2008's THE INCREDIBLE HULK made in its entire U.S. release ($134M).

Overseas, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 soared in the box office bringing in an estimated $124 million, including $48M in China, for an International total of $282 million.

Worldwide, a bunch of a-holes have already made an astounding $427 million. This is already more than the entire worldwide run of THE INCREDIBLE HULK ($263M) and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER ($370M).

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 had a reported production budget of $200 million and that giant pile of money is already making even bigger pile of money.

Congrats to Marvel Studios, writer / director James Gunn, the entire cast and crew because you're movie is a smash hit as it is already nearing a half billion in the worldwide box office after just two weekends.
