Originally, Warner Bros. was all-in with Ben Affleck as producer, writer, director and star in THE BATMAN. All those hats were too much for the actor and he had to step down as director. The studio brought director Matt Reeves on board to helm the solo movie.
Now, according to Variety, Warner Bros. is in talks to bring on Dylan Clark as producer. Clark has worked with Reeves on two of the PLANET OF THE APES franchise films together.
THE BATMAN was initially set to being filming this spring / summer but changes at director, and a reported Page 1 script re-write, have delayed the movie until a 2018 production start at the earliest and a 2019 theatrical release date timeframe.
