SUPERGIRL Season 2 Episode 15 Review: Exodus

We pick up with the aftermath of Jeremiah’s betrayal. This starts with a abduction of an alien family which is Cadmus’ 20th alien abduction. Kara thinks she can get a story about this into Catco magazine to spread the word to the aliens. However, Snapper refuses until she says that she can get Supergirl to speak with him exclusively.

Winn has become comfortable with Lyra enough to let James meet her. Their date gets cut short when Cadmus break into the bar and drags Lyra and another alien off despite Alex and Maggie being there as well. This just got personal.

Tensions are running high. In this case, Alex takes her frustration on their Cadmus hostage after Winn snaps about her father. Hank stops her before she ends him. This doesn't bode well for her.

Despite meeting with Supergirl, Snapper refuses to release half the truth to the public. This may cause some trouble and hard to bring out the truth but Snapper does stick by his own creed. However, after encouragement by Mon-El, Kara decides to blog about her article and risk Snapper’s wrath to warn her fellow aliens.

Jeremiah shows up at Alex’s apartment. He claims he is on their side and that Lillian Luthor is going to kill them and needs her help. Alex agrees at the moment that J’onn transforms from Jeremiah’s form to Hanks. She failed his test. Alex is scared for her father especially when J’onn takes her off the case and Kara agrees.

Maggie, however, helps Alex track down the van taking all the aliens. Alex arrives and is saved by Jeremiah who reveals they are sending the aliens off world. He suggested this as an alternative to Lillian wanting to kill them. However, this still doesn't sit right with Alex.

Lena shows up at Catco and gives Kara the idea to blog about the Cadmus alien abductions. Meanwhile, she does some digging on her own and comes across an abandoned naval base that is still having shipments come in. Lillian, however, is having her daughter watched by her assistant and tells her to redirect her.

Just as Lena is trying to do some good, she gets accidentally pushed off her building by Lillian’s goons while on the phone with Kara. With all the times she's nearly been killed, it wouldn't be surprising if she turns evil. However, Supergirl catches her and saves her just in time and Lena tells her where the missing aliens are.

Alex is trying to stop Lillian from sending the rest of the aliens off world by threatening to blow up the facility. She sets the honks off and gets on the ship to try and stop it manually while Jeremiah fails to defeat Cyborg Superman on his side. Say what you will, Alex has a contingency plan.

Alex gets Winn, Mon-El and the others at the DEO to help her stop it. Supergirl arrives to Kara in time to help slow the ship down. Which is much more difficult with the ship shooting at her. Kara uses all her strength and stops the ship.

After her heroic rescue, Snapper fires Kara after she breaches her contract. As well as for not going through the right channel and getting lucky when she could've been wrong. Of course he doesn't know that she is Supergirl, but he does make a good point.

Mon-El is there to comfort Kara after she loses her job. In the end, we finally get a look at two royal members most likely from Daxam (Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo) who have arrived at Earth! I guess this confirms Mon-El’s princely roots. Yikes. Kara isn't going to like this.

One of the best climatic scenes of the season was Supergirl pushing the ship and her sister back to earth, reminiscent of when Kara saved her sister in the plane crash. Kara and Alex and their family are the core of the show and the audience was reminded of this.

This episode, by no coincidence, shows the rights of alien immigrants being deported (sound familiar) and even threatening to kill them, mirroring our current situation in the states.

Despite finally getting a revealing look at Mon-El’s true identity, with all the heavy going on in the last few episodes, it'll be nice to look forward to a fun episode. Coming up soon is a SUPERGIRL / THE FLASH musical crossover, which will mostly take place on The Flash. It looks very retro but will show off many of the stars vocal talents
