ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Reaches the $1 Billion Worldwide Box Office Milestone


Disney and Lucasfilm are very happy today as it is now official... ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS MOVIE is a $1 billion movie. A milestone that definitely shows the Star Wars brand is bigger than ever after 2015's STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS amassed over $2 billion in the worldwide box office.

Domestically, ROGUE ONE has taken in over $512 million and was the No. 1 2016 domestic release. Internationally, ROGUE ONE has brought in over $499M bringing it's worldwide total to $1.01B.

And in case you didn't already know, Disney owned all Top 5 worldwide grossing movies of 2016:
  1. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR - $1.15B
  2. FINDING DORY - $1.027B
  3. ZOOTOPIA - $1.023B
  4. ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY - $1.01B
  5. JUNGLE BOOK - $966 million
Congrats to everyone involved in ROGUE ONE and now it's time to focus on this December's release of STAR WARS EPISODE VIII.
