GOTHAM CITY SIRENS Is Being Fast-Tracked Starring Harley Quinn and Directed by David Ayer

SUICIDE SQUAD director David Ayer is not done with the super hero movie business after his summer film took in over $745 million at the worldwide box office. According to The Hollywood Reporter, GOTHAM CITY SIRENS is now being fast-tracked and will star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn as well as re-teaming her with Ayer as the female villain ensemble movie's director.

THR writes:

[GOTHAM CITY SIRENS is] "a feature project that will showcase the top female villains from the DC stable.
"Geneva Robertson-Dworet, a top female writer in the action sphere who also has penned scripts for the Tomb Raider remake and Warners' own Sherlock Holmes 3, is writing the screenplay.
"The heads of DC’s film arm, Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, also will be involved in... [producer] role[s]."

A similar DC comic series featured Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy but it is currently unknown if they will also be featured in GOTHAM CITY SIRENS. Robbie has been working on developing a Harley Quinn spin-off script since she fell in love with the character during the production cycle of SUICIDE SQUAD.
