A Few DOCTOR STRANGE Movie Facts You Might Not Know

DOCTOR STRANGE director Scott Derrickson sat down with Empire Magazine to disclose some facts about Marvel Studios' latest blockbuster film. Here's some bullet points from that conversation and yes there are SPOILERS below.

  • DOCTOR STRANGE takes place over the course of one year starting in fall 2015 and ending in modern day fall 2016.
  • Dr. Stephen Strange is in recovery after his car accident for approximately 3-6 months before heading off to meet The Ancient One.
  • Actor Benedict Cumberbatch provided the voice and motion capture performance for Dormammu.
  • The villain Nightmare was, at some point in the film's development process, considered for the main antagonist role before Keacilius and Dormammu became the villains.
  • The Doctor Strange versus Dormammu showdown repeated itself over a thousand times and obviously you did not see all of it on the big screen because that would have taken too long and been too repetitive.
  • Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd music were considered for the end credits but they were both too demanding and expensive.
