CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is 2016's Top Movie Worldwide and Will Hit $1 Billion This Weekend



Well that didn't take long. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR has already topped the charts and is the biggest grossing movie of 2016 worldwide.

As of today, the film has brought in over $981 million across the planet with $671M overseas and $310M domestically.

The movie still sits at No. 5 for the biggest gross domestically behind DEADPOOL ($362M), ZOOTOPIA ($332M), BATMAN V. SUPERMAN ($328M) and DISNEY'S THE JUNGLE BOOK ($314M). After this weekend, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR should easily jump up to the No. 2 or No. 3 slot.

Worldwide, Civil War jumped past ZOOTOPIA which now sits at No. 2 with $971M.

There is no doubt CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR will break the $1 billion barrier this weekend making it Marvel Studios' fourth $1B movie along with THE AVENGERS ($1.5B), AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON ($1.4B) and IRON MAN 3 ($1.2B).
