WOLVERINE 3 Adds 2 More Actors to its Main Cast

WOLVERINE 3 is getting ready to begin filming, reportedly in New Orleans, soon and its main cast is being rounded out right now. So far actors Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart returning as Charles Xavier and Boyd Holbrook as an undisclosed villain are attached to the movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Richard E. Grant has been added in a "mad scientist" role and Deadline is reporting actor Stephen Merchant will be joining the cast as well in an unknown role.

Rumors (and hints) have been plenty when it comes to how WOLVERINE 3 might be taking some of its story basis from the comic book story arc 'Old Man Logan.' And, due to the addition of Stewart, the movie will take place in the future of Fox's many X-Men movie universe timelines.

So far, as of the publishing of this post, there is yet to be a female lead attached to this movie. However, it's rumored that the mutant Laura Kinney (a.k.a. X-23) could make her big screen debut and this could be Fox's way of recasting the role of Wolverine without having to find a male actor immediately following Jackman's departure from the role.

WOLVERINE 3 releases on March 3, 2017.
