Is Warner Bros. Considering Adding Another Producer After BATMAN V. SUPERMAN Stalled in its 2nd Weekend?

The Hollywood Reported has just published a story claiming that things might be a bit chaotic within the walls of Warner Bros. after BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE stalled out in it second weekend. A 69-percent drop-off in its second weekend was shocking enough that the movie may not even reach the $1 billion blockbuster level the studio desired to achieve with it.

THR reports:

"Several sources say Warner Bros. executives were convinced they had the goods with BvS and were shocked when negative reviews began pouring in. Now, with DC movies dated through 2020, the outcome has led to a flurry of rumors that the studio will make adjustments — maybe add a new producer? — rather than allow BvS director Zack Snyder to proceed with the two-part Justice League. But sources with firsthand knowledge of the situation say the studio has no such plans. One says the filmmakers naturally will evaluate what went wrong with BvS, but when it comes to Justice League, 'we're not going to take a movie that's supposed to be one thing and turn it into a copycat of something else.'"

Warner Bros. is moving ahead with their planned DC Films schedule and this is not changing but it seems like they might be considering adding another producer to the current DC Films braintrust to help guide the DC Extended Universe. This is exactly what The Daily SuperHero suggested — as well as many other sites and outlets have suggested — in a recent editorial which you can read by clicking right here.

There is definitely something happening within the Warner Bros. and DC Films offices as all you hear from those who are working on upcoming DCEU movies is how their respective film(s) will have more fun, funny and be lighter than what has been seen in MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN.

If Warner Bros. and DC Films ever want another $1 billion DC super hero movie, then some kind of change is needed. And this should not be viewed as a negative because this kind of evoltion within the walls of Warner Bros. and DC Films will only make future DCEU movies better, in theory, as it is perceived that many moviegoers and most critics are tired of director Zack Snyder's dark and humorless tones in the first two DCEU films.
