Sophie Turner Teases Her Version of Jean Grey in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Originally played by Famke Janssen, director Bryan Singer has recast Jean Grey with Game of Thrones actor Sophie Turner in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Turner spoke with Entertainment Weekly teasing her version of the powerful psychic mutant.

“The difference between this and Famke’s Jean Grey is she’s young and isolated and so insecure and very alienated – even from the other mutants – because she’s so powerful. So there’s a real vulnerability to her and it’s great to see how her and Scott [Summers a.k.a. Cyclops, played by actor Tye Sheridan] find each other through that alienation. She’s a great role to play, she’s so much fun, and her arc in the movie is amazing.”

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE releases on May 27.

"Worshiped as a god since the dawn of civilization, the immortal Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) becomes the first and most powerful mutant. Awakening after thousands of years, he recruits the disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and other mutants to create a new world order. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Professor X (James McAvoy) and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) lead a team of young X-Men to stop their seemingly invincible nemesis from destroying mankind."
