Writer Lawrence Kasdan Hints at HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Plot

The rebirth of Star Wars is upon us! STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS is out. ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY comes out this December. STAR WARS EPISODE VIII releases in May 2017 and then HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY hits theaters in May 2018.

Written by Lawrence Kasdan and co-directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, HAN SOLO will follow the adventures of everyone's favorite scoundrel in a galaxy far, far away. Kasdan teased (via IndieWire) the premise of the HAN SOLO movie, which will take place before STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE.

"It will not be here’s where he was born and this is how he was raised. I think what it will be is, what was he like 10 years earlier [that in A New Hope], maybe a little earlier, you’ll get a glimpse. But [Akira] Kurosawa once said the heroes are the ones that are still changing and the villains are locked and petrified into what they are. And Harrison [Ford] embodies in ‘Force Awakens’ someone who is still not settled on who he is."

HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY releases on May 25, 2018 and, as of right now, it's been reported that Disney and Lucasfilm are interviewing thousands of men during their casting process for a young actor to play Han Solo. No pressure...
