With One Week Left Until Release The Daily SuperHero's STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Blackout Begins

Public Service Announcement: Today is December 10 which means there is one week left until U.S. screenings for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS begin. As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I've tried to steer clear from the majority of rumors, spoilers and scoops for this new movie because I want to go into watching this film not knowing much at all.

This is being doing to fully appreciate the film experience from my theater seat without anything big being spoiled in advance. A tough thing to do in today's age of digital media and content consumption, for sure, but I've had held myself back from clicking on possible spoilers and done a helluva job at it while the voice in my head still keeps telling me to click those links.

Which brings me to the point of this post. Starting today The Daily SuperHero will not be posting anymore content for The Force Awakens until after I've seen the movie one week from tonight and the majority of moviegoers have a chance to see it during its opening weekend, next week. Any major spoiler posts, reviews, etc. will be held until after its opening weekend and beginning on Monday December 21.

Over the past two years I've made it a point to make sure all readers of The Daily SuperHero know that a review and spoiler-y posts will not be posted online until the Monday after opening weekend — unlike the majority of all other sites who post spoiler-y content the week before its release. But for The Force Awakens, this is being taken a step further to blackout all Star Wars posts until the 21st.

I hope you understand why this is happening... to not ruin the movie for anyone at the sacrifice of web traffic and page hits. A rarity in today's click-fueled Internet but a worthwhile sacrifice to not ruin a movie for anyone, including myself.

In the meantime, there will still be posts for Marvel and DC news, but you'll have to go to other websites, blogs and tabloid sites if you're looking for pre-release spoiler content for The Force Awakens.
