DEADPOOL Will Make Fun of His Last Appearance in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

Today, a set visit embargo was lifted for DEADPOOL for a few large media outlets who visited when the movie was filming in Vancouver earlier this year. There is a ton of information to comb through, which will be posted throughout today, but this bit of info is a much needed and welcome reveal.

In the DEADPOOL movie, our anti-hero will make fun of X-MEN ORIGNS: WOLVERINE and its terrible interpretation of the Merc With a Mouth. Collider sat with DEADPOOL writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who confirmed it.

"Yeah, very much. Obviously I think it’s pretty well known that they fucked up Deadpool and Wolverine. So we have our fun with [X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE]. Deadpool obviously breaks that fourth wall in the comics, he breaks it in the movie. This is an origin story, partly an origin story, partly a story in the present of revenge and then redemption. So we do have our fun with the Wolverine movie and how Deadpool was portrayed, and yet we completely disregarded it and done it hopefully better than they did."

Director Tim Miller also added to this confirmation.

"It’s a little therapy session for Ryan. Inside the movie."

If there's anyone who needs some therapy from past comic book roles it's Ryan Reynolds. Deservedly so. It's already been revealed in the DEADPOOL trailer that he will make fun of GREEN LANTERN, and now there's this reveal. All of which is so Deadpool of Reynolds to do!

DEADPOOL releases on February 12, 2016.
