THOR: RAGNAROK - Mark Ruffalo Inadvertently Says Loki Will Return

This really shouldn't come as a surprise even though it has yet to be confirmed that Loki will return in THOR: RAGNAROK. Especially with the way THOR: THE DARK WORLD ended which was the biggest clue actor Tom Hiddleston would be back as Loki, who was last seen sitting on the Asgard throne (disguised as Odin).

Seeing as how a Loki return has yet to be mentioned (or confirmed) by anyone involved with THOR: RAGNAROK, the fact that Bruce Banner / Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo let it slip out in an interview with USA Today was quite the inadvertent slip.

“I don’t know what the story is yet, but it’ll be (Loki) and Thor, and then I’ll be in there here and there. But I don’t know any of the particulars quite yet. I’ve talked to Taika (Waititi, the director) a little bit and I like where it’s headed. … Chris (Hemsworth) and I have a really good time together, we goof off and play around when Tom Hiddleston is around. So it’ll be a lot of funny back-and-forth, especially with Taika, he does that really well. It’ll have that kind of antagonistic Odd Couple-thing going on.”

Not only did Ruffalo pretty much confirm Loki is in the movie, but he also confirmed Taika Waititi is going to direct it. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm either, but Ruffalo's quote seems just as good as an official announcement.

THOR: RAGNAROK begins filming in Australia in June 2016 and releases on November 3, 2017.
