GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Reportedly Bringing Mantis into the Fold

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 doesn't begin filming in Atlanta until February of next year but casting announcements are imminent. In fact, here's the first real big one as The Hollywood Reporter states that actor Pom Klementieff (Oldboy) has been cast in the sequel.

Adding to this report, Deadline claims their source has told them Klementieff will be the hero Mantis, a.k.a. Celestial Madonna. However, Klementieff's role was not confirmed in THR's previous report so take this half of this report as rumor... for now.

In the comics, Mantis has ties with the Kree alien race and she is an expert martial artist who has an accelerated healing factor with psychic abilities. She also has ties to the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy teams in the comic book universe.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 releases on May 5, 2017.
