Chris Evans Issues a Verbal Commitement to Marvel to be CAPTAIN AMERICA After His Contract Ends

This piece of news sounds like it could have a little something to do with Marvel Studios now being overseen by Disney Studios chair Alan Horn instead of Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter. Reason being is that actor Chris Evans had previously told the media he was looking forward to "taking a break" from his role as Captain America when his Marvel contract ended.

Now, Evan's tune has changed and it comes at a time when Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige reports to a new boss. Coincidence? Maybe but the timing creates this implication, too.

According to Collider, Evans is down for more Cap. And now he doesn't seem like he needs to take a break from the role.

“Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me. I’ve never had such a relationship where you have such—I mean look at my resume, I’m used to being on set being like, ‘Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?’ Marvel just can’t stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It’s wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it’s like a playground as an actor.”

So if Feige and his executive creative team have plans for Evans' Cap beyond Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe they have a verbal commitment from actor for more beyond his current contract requirements. Although, if Feige thinks handing over the shield to Bucky or Falcon is the next move, then Evans might get a break from the role regardless.
