This post may contain SPOILERS for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR but this is in fact just rumor right now.
Another week, another new CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR rumor. But this rumor is actually a funny one because it is a rehash of a rumor which was reported by The Hollywood Report back in the beginning of July. The rehash comes from a site who is at the helm of the rumor mill and churns out more unconfirmed rumors than any other website online.
Since this is a rehash, this report is credited to THR who wrote the following in July.
"Contrary to other reports, THR hears that Tomei's Aunt May may be making her first appearance in Marvel and Disney's Captain America: Civil War. Holland's Peter Parker is also expected to cameo in that 2016 film."
The rehash corroborates a cameo may have been secretly filmed for Civil War with actor Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Previously, there were reports stating Marvel and Sony were interested in Tomei for the role but nothing has been heard regarding this casting report since the initial and still unconfirmed report.
If this any of this is true, it makes sense to give Aunt May a quick introduction in Civil War. Which is now sounding like it's just as much a setup movie for SPIDER-MAN and BLACK PANTHER as it is a continuation of Cap's pursuit of the Winter Soldier and his face-off against Tony Stark.
