Jeremy Renner Says No Mask For HAWKEYE and Confirms CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Side

It is a sad day for the fans of Hawkeye as actor Jeremy Renner has gone on record confirming Hawkeye won't be seen wearing a mask anytime soon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At Wizard World Chicago, this past weekend, Renner answered fan questions and one was if he would wear a mask.

"No, I don't wear a mask," Renner said (via ComicBook). "You know the Ultimates version of Hawkeye?"

It was then reported the fan who asked was wearing his own Hawkeye costume and Renner shot back at him, "Where's your mask?" Well played.

Obviously, things can change in the MCU and perhaps in a movie down the road there will be a quick joke about Hawkeye wearing a mask by someone like Cap or Tony Stark followed by a sarcastic comment from Hawkeye.

Renner also confirmed which side he is on in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

Here's a SPOILER ALERT! for those who don't want to know. Stop reading now. If you want to know, then continue reading after the image below.

When asked how he felt about siding with Team Captain America, Renner said the following.

"I don't know; they wrote me in that side," he said (via CB). "It made sense to me." Then joked, "Maybe I switched sides!"

That joke seems to be Renner poking fun at the fact he played both sides in THE AVENGERS.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR releases on May 6, 2016.
