IRON MAN 3 Writer Drew Pearce Confirms He's Working on a GHOSTBUSTERS Movie With Ivan Reitman and the Russo Bros.

This post is a little off the path of Marvel, DC and Star Wars news normally covered on The Daily SuperHero but sometimes I like to cover a few other franchises outside of those main three. I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan since the first one released in the 80s and my youthful self fell in love immediately.

My current adult self is not really hyped about the reboot director Paul Feig is currently working on because I'm not a fan his past films. But what I am excited for is the rumored GHOSTBUSTERS reboot claimed to hopefully star Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum. And now there is real news about this project because writer Drew Pearce (IRON MAN 3, Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation) has confirmed it's happening and in development right now to MTV.

“I’ve finished my work on that in the last couple weeks. Obviously it’s top secret, but there’s a gigantic bold idea that I came up with, and the Russo brothers — who did ’Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and are doing ’Civil War’ at the moment — and Ivan Reitman, who did the original movie, are going to take that and run with it. Obviously I cannot tell you what it is, but hopefully in one year’s time you’ll know!”

This makes my insides melt a little bit because not only did Pearce confirm it's being working on but he confirmed Pratt and Tatum are also targeted by himself, the Russos and Reitman to star.

“That’s definitely the cast we’ve been thinking about as we approach the project. Whether that happens or not is very much above my pay grade. It’s just my job to give them something exciting that maybe they’ll do.”

This is the GHOSTBUSTERS reboot news I've been waiting for.
