INDIANA JONES 5 Spec Pitch: A Top Student of Dr. Henry Jones Jr. and Searching For a Yeti

There's been some rumbling about INDIANA JONES 5 today but I'll get to those news bits tomorrow. For now, I want to give everyone my quick spec pitch for what I think should be the basis of the plot for the the next Indiana Jones movie.

Harrison Ford wants to reprise this role. So bring him back and instead of him passing the torch of the Indiana Jones mantle to Mutt, from that last movie, have it passed on to one of Dr. Jones' top students. Maybe this is actor Chris Pratt, or maybe not.

The adventure should be based around a mysterious creature who has been killing and harming those who are climbing Mt. Everest in the Himalayas. Indy is approached by someone who wants to stop the killings and who has ventured to the mountain for an expedition to investigate these disappearances only to barely escape with his (or her) life. Knowing the experience of Indy, it's a logical choice to go and recruit him.

Indy is tired and older but intrigued by the proposal because he's secretly been following and researching the killings and disappearances on the mountain and has a theory that it could be a Yeti. However, due to his age he needs a trusted partner on this mission and he reaches out to his top student to join him.

Their journey begins and while I'd love to divulge more from my spec (speculative) pitch, some things are best left a mystery. I will say that this is a story that has action, adventure, humor and some scary moments. This could also be loosely based off of Disney's Expedition Everest ride and line queue at their Animal Kingdom park in Orlando, which could be amazingly sculpted into an Indiana Jones ride if this idea were to come true.

So there you go Lucasfilm and Disney, there's my quick spec pitch for your next Indiana Jones movie. Hope you're reading.
