DAREDEVIL Season 2 Casting Announcements Coming Soon, Plus Bullseye & Elektra Rumors - UPDATE

It took less than two weeks after DAREDEVIL premiered on Netflix for the streaming service to green lit Season 2. This came as a huge surprise because the original plan for Marvel's Netflix series was to be the first of four series — including A.K.A. JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE and IRON FIST — followed by a massive mini-series event team-up with THE DEFENDERS.

While DAREDEVIL Season 2 won't change the layout too much, Marvel and Netflix are simply inserting it after AKA JESSICA JONES, it may delay the eventual release timeline for THE DEFENDERS.

Today, rumors are swirling about DAREDEVIL including new additions of a hero and a villain. Plus casting announcements are reportedly coming very soon because Season 2 should start filming within the next month or two. The hero addition being rumored is that of Elektra. There were reportedly leaked audition tapes of actors testing for the role of Elektra, but shortly after the leak those were removed from the Internet.

Meanwhile, per LR, actor Jason Statham was allegedly seen visiting Marvel representatives and is reportedly being considered for the villain Bullseye. Many fans were upset that Bullseye did not appear in Season 1, but having action star Statham in the role would be a welcome addition.

UPDATE: Comic Book Resources have reached out to Marvel TV and they have DEBUNKED the Statham as Bullseye rumor. Well, that didn't take but less than 15 hours to debunk.

Marvel and Netflix have not confirmed anything as of the publishing of this post, so take all of this as rumor right now. But stay tuned because DAREDEVIL is starting production very soon which means casting announcements are right around the corner.
