AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Reveals Fourth Infinity Stone and a New Twist For the Infinity Gauntlet

Now that it's Monday and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON has released in the U.S., and in most major worldwide markets, The Daily SuperHero spoiler embargo on the sequel is officially over. (I like to give fans a chance to see it over the weekend first before posting spoilery articles, unlike most websites.)

You've had your chance to see the movie and if you haven't please stop reading and get to the theater, then come back and read this.

We have a fourth Infinity Stone! The Mind Stone has been revealed in Age of Ultron being inside the blue gem of Loki's scepter from THE AVENGERS. Most fans figured this was the case with the scepter because Loki did use it to control the minds of Hawkeye and others. Now it is official.

The Mind Stone was a key element of creating Vision, too, which means a showdown between Thanos and Vision is coming in Phase 3. If Vision can survive without the Mind Stone remains to be seen, but killing off such a cool, new Avenger character like Vision would be a travesty.

So we have Vision as the Mind Stone, the Collector has the Aether in one of his various collections somewhere in the galaxy, the Tesseract is in the Asgard Vault and the Nova Corps has the Orb. This leaves two Infinity Stones left unaccounted for and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed to Crave Online that the Time and Soul Stones are left — this also confirms that the Aether is indeed the Reality Stone.

"Time and Soul are the two that are not accounted for."

Many fans on social media and forums are already speculating either the Time or Soul Stone might appear in DOCTOR STRANGE and they might be correct. But one thing that doesn't need speculating is when Thanos acquires the Infinity Gauntlet glove.

In the mid-credits scene for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, Thanos is seen putting on the glove and he is also fed up with trying to rely on others to do his dirty work and it's time for him to take action.

Most fans assumed that mid-credits scene was Thanos in the Asgard Vault acquiring the glove and other fans think it was Loki who let Thanos into the Asgard Vault (remember Loki is on the Asgard throne right now) to collect his prize since Loki owes Thanos for failing him during THE AVENGERS.

All those theories and thoughts are all wrong. According to Feige, via Cinema Blend, that mid-credits scene was not taking place in the Asgard Vault at all.

"There are two different gloves. That was not Odin’s vault that you see at the end."

Whoa. If you remember which hand Thanos places into the glove in the Age of Ultron mid-credits scene, it was his left hand. In the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR teaser, he is wearing the glove on his left hand with all six Infinity Stones in it. But the glove seen in the Asgard Vault, in THOR, was right handed.

Want proof of this? The below image was taken at the San Diego Comic-Con when Marvel revealed the Infinity Gauntlet prop that was in the Asgard Vault, in THOR. It's right handed. The lead image of this post is from the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR teaser and Thanos is clearly wearing a glove on his left hand.

That should blow your mind for a while because the glove in Asgard is obviously something else. Maybe it's another glove that is meant to defeat the glove Thanos now has.

It's all speculation now and this is exactly what Marvel Studios wants. Well played.
