Warner Bros. Missed Out on a Huge Opportunity to Debut a BATMAN V. SUPERMAN Teaser During the Super Bowl
But let me get to my point here and that's to call out Warner Bros. who missing out an a great opportunity to create a tremendous amount of buzz for next year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. With less than a handful of new movie trailers debuting in the Super Bowl, today, Batman v. Superman could have been what everyone was talking about.
So what if a 30-second spot costs them millions, WB really needs a bump in buzz while studio competitor Marvel Studios is running away in the lead in this competition for super hero movie dominance. If a 15-second teaser can be shown last summer during the WB panel at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con International and can make fans go crazy with excitement, then a 30-second Batman v. Superman Super Bowl teaser debut could have crashed servers of social media sites.
In the end, the film does not come out until March 25, 2016, so Warner still has next year's Super Bowl to build hype. But not planting the seed (to a worldwide audience) over a year in advance just seems like a huge missed opportunity.
