Former Mixed Martial Artist Gina Carano Joins DEADPOOL as Angel Dust; Plus Colossus Reportedly to Appear


Yesterday fans saw the first image of the pre-production work for Deadpool when actor Ryan Reynolds posted an image of him looking at a prototype Deadpool mask. And in just about a month from now, principle photography and full production for Deadpool will begin in Vancouver.

Outside of Reynolds, director Tim Miller and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick being attached to the film; the only other name associated with the film was actor T.J. Miller. His role is undisclosed and T.J. Miller will reportedly add more comic relief to the film outside of Reynolds' own comedic antics as Deadpool. 

Another new name is officially onboard with former mixed martial artist-turned-actor Gina Carano who The Hollywood Reporter is citing will be the Morlocks mutant Angel Dust. If you're not familiar with Angel Dust she is able to increase the adrenaline levels in her system and this give her super strength, speed, stamina and agility. (Perfect for the fighter-turned-actor.) The Morlocks are an underground group of outcast mutants but it is not known if they will have any larger role in the film.

Also, The Hollywood Reporter claims that X-Men member Colossus will have a role in the new film although they do not specify if actor Daniel Cudmore will reprise his role. How Colossus will fit into the film is obviously not known but it should make for at least one great fight sequence against Deadpool... if that's the plan, of course.





Deadpool releases in theaters on February 12, 2016.
