George Lucas Hasn't Seen the STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer and Sounds Like He Has Seller Remorse

Obviously the context of Star Wars creator George Lucas' recent comments about Star Wars: The Force Awakens is important but when you just read his quotes as they've been reported, it sounds like he has some seller remorse.

According to PageSix.com, Lucas hasn't seen the first trailer for J.J. Abrams' Episode VII.

"I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet.”

Lucas went into a bit more detail about why he hasn't seen it.

"Because it’s not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it’s released."

So Lucas is a movie purist who wants the full movie experience, without all the spoilers, when he is sitting in his theater seat. However, this sounds a bit fishy seeing as how Lucas is a 'creative consultant' for The Force Awakens.

A while back, Lucas's son spoke about how his father was actively engaged in talks with Abrams about Episode VII so it would seem that Lucas has some knowledge of the new film. But when asked about if he's excited to see what Abrams' vision for Episode VII, he response was "Not really."

Someone sounds a bit saddened about selling his Star Wars baby to Disney and he rightfully should be. Because when you're career is jump started by Star Wars, and you spend decades of your life with Star Wars, he's allowed to be sad about moving on from the franchise. Although Lucas should not express this publicly and he should be nothing but supportive of Abrams and the new Star Wars film.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases in theaters on December 18, 2015.
