Anton Vanko was only seen briefly as an elderly, dying old man in the beginning of Iron Man 2. He worked with Tony Stark's father, Howard, and helped create the Arc technology which Tony then miniaturized.
Currently, Marvel is filming episodes for their new ABC series Agent Carter and they have officially announced that a much younger version of Anton will appear in the show. Marvel announced they have cast actor Costa Ronin for the role.
"Fans have wanted to learn more about Anton Vanko since he was first mentioned in 'Iron Man 2' and we're happy to deliver with Costa's terrific performance in 'Marvel's Agent Carter,'" said Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television on Marvel.com.
Marvel's Agent Carter premieres on ABC on Tuesday January 6.
