DC Super Hero Movie News: Lex Luthor in SUICIDE SQUAD? Female Director For WONDER WOMAN?

Some new Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment movie news has hit the web and instead of writing two separate posts that would be 3-5 sentences long, The Daily SuperHero will combine both into this singular post instead.

First up is Wonder Woman. Briefly stated in a new column on The Hollywood Reporter, the website states the solo Wonder Woman film — starring Gal Gadot, who will be introduced in Batman v. Superman — is looking for a female director to helm the female-leading super hero film. While no details were provided regarding which female directors are (or could be) in the running, THR clearly states WB is "seeking a female helmer."

Next up on the WB and DC movie news docket is actor Jesse Eisenberg reprising his role as Lex Luthor immediately after Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016's Suicide Squad movie. According to Deadline, after being introduced in BvS, Luthor will then have a huge role in the David Ayers-directed Suicide Squad, which is based off the DC comic book team of anti-hero villains.

Regarding Suicide Squad, think along the lines of Sony's proposed Sinister Six villain ensemble movie which comes out three months after Suicide Squad, in November 2016. Besides Eisenberg being eyed for a role, others reportedly being eyed for Suicide Squad are: Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Wonder Woman does not have an actual release date set outside of Warner's press release announcement stating it will hit theaters in 2017, while Suicide Squad will come out after BvS on August 5, 2016.
