Robert Downey Jr. Wants More HULK & BLACK WIDOW and Praises HAWKEYE in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

When Robert Downey Jr. speaks, people shut up and listen. This was the case when the Iron Man superstar spoke to USA Today about a few of his fellow Avengers teammates.

Ladies first.

"[I]t would be kind of more appropriate for a character that already was like a Black Widow [to lead a movie]. It just seems like whatever Scarlett [Johansson] does, people want to go see it."

He jokingly said Black Widow needs a break too — due to Johansson becoming a first-time mother. Downey then turned his attention to his 'science bro' and the Avengers' expert archer.

"I think Jeremy Renner is — when folks see the Avengers: Age of Ultron he’s just a rockstar, a bada**. And Ruffalo is pumped. He does great [work]. I’d like to hear them talk even more seriously about a Hulk franchise, because that’s been one of the toughest ones to get right."

Fans have been clamoring for Incredible Hulk 2 and just like Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said many times about other Marvel characters, whom fans want a standalone film for, it's all about finding the right story for a project. Now, Marvel seems ready to take more risks after the huge success of Guardians of the Galaxy and even Downey senses this.

"...I’m sure that my parent company [Marvel] is feeling expansive and and bold after the summer they’ve had."

Fans of Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye certainly hope that Marvel is ready to be more bold. But until any of these three heroes get their own chance to shine in a potential standalone film, fans can see them all again in next summer's Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015.
