First Look at Hayley Atwell as AGENT CARTER in the Season 2 Premiere of Marvel's AGENTS OF SHIELD

Flashbacks. If done right can be a great way to jumpstart a new franchise. This appears to be exactly what ABC and Marvel are doing with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and their new Agent Carter series.

During the Season 2 premiere episode of Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter actor Hayley Atwell will make a surprise appearance in the first episode. This continues the trend of making sure everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is connected, but it also teases the Agent Carter series coming this winter.

Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episode 1 'Shadows' airs on ABC on September 23 at 9 p.m. Eastern. Agent Carter Season 1 is set to premiere on ABC in early 2015.

Marvel's official synopsis of this episode:

"'Shadows' - Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources--but that's not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?"
