Editorial: Why Marvel Studios Will Undoubtedly Include LOCKJAW in a Hopeful INHUMANS Movie

The big risk Marvel Studios took when announcing Guardians of the Galaxy at Comic-Con two summers ago has paid off to the tune of breaching $300 million in each domestic and International box office sales (as of the publishing of this post). Now, Marvel is ready to test those waters again by reportedly moving forward with developing an Inhumans movie.

While Guardians of the Galaxy proved Marvel can take an unknown group of heroes and make them a mainstream blockbuster success, there was a lot of help to achieve this when the studio included a talking raccoon-like alien and a tall, talking tree-like alien. Rocket and Groot have endeared themselves to audiences everywhere and are also merchandising juggernauts as fans are buying up their respective action figures.

When was the last time you saw anything Rocket or Groot at your local retailer? Most will answer that they haven't. And, as of right now, it's been well over a month since the release of Guardians in most major markets.

But getting to the point of all of this it to say that there is no way Marvel (and Disney) will miss out on another adorable movie creature who can also sell lots of toys. And that is the Inhumans' dog Lockjaw.

If you're not familiar with Lockjaw, he is an alien bulldog-like creature who has powers that include: teleportation, super strength, durability, pre-cognition and matter ingestion. To read more about Lockjaw head to Marvel's official page by clicking here.

Will Lockjaw be in an Inhumans movie? If I was a gambling man I'd bet money on it in Vegas right now. The merchandise sales alone is worth having Lockjaw in a hopeful Inhumans movie. I can already see the plush Lockjaw figures on toy shelves right now.
