DAREDEVIL Showrunner Says Matt Murdock is a Flawed Human and Implies a Similar Batman-esque Vibe

Next month Marvel TV is bringing Daredevil to the 2014 New York Comic-Con to officially debut the cast of the exclusive Netflix series, plus it is assumed the first reveal of the Daredevil costume will occur as well. Showrunner Steve DeKnight has been teasing about Daredevil recently and revealed his affinity to the character having two polar opposite sides to him and how the hero resides in a more 'morally grey area' of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“He’s a lawyer by day, and he’s taken this oath," DeKnight said to Paste Magazine. "But every night he breaks that oath, and goes out and does very violent things. The image that always stuck in my mind was the Frank Miller['s] Elektra [comic book story] run where he’s holding Bullseye over the street, and he lets Bullseye go because he doesn’t want Bullseye to ever kill anyone again. When I read that originally, when I was young, I’d never seen anything like that in comics. Superman scoops up the villain and puts them in jail. This time the hero didn’t do that. It was a morally grey ground that I found absolutely fascinating. There are two sides to this character.”

DeKnight has clarified, in past teases, that while Daredevil will be more violent and bloody than Marvel's Agent of SHIELD he will walk the fine line of nearly killing his targets... but won't.

“He’ll come close to killing somebody. And it’s that fine edge —Why doesn’t he go all the way? I really liked the flawed heroes, the human heroes.”

Seems like Daredevil will have a Batman-like vibe to him and that's nothing but a good thing. Daredevil will exclusively stream on Netflix in May 2015.
