BATMAN - STAR WARS Mashup: False Report Said Batmobile Was Stolen so Zack Snyder Makes it a Fantasy Reality

It's no secret that Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder is a big Star Wars nerd fan. He's been trolling the Internet with several Batman/Star Wars mashups on his Twitter account over the past few months but nothing is better than his newest mashup.

Yesterday, a rumor report hit the Internet claiming the Batmobile was stolen from where ever it was stored on a Batman v. Superman lot. This rumor was quickly debunked by the Detroit Free Press, who reached out to local police.

"Detroit police spokesman Sgt. Michael Woody said that police confirmed with producers of 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' that the vehicle has not been stolen, a rumor that proliferated on the web and social media on Friday.
"'The Batmobile is safe in the Batcave where it belongs,' Woody said."

This is a great reminder to use your best judgement as a reader — as well as editors/writers should use better judgement and do their due diligence in confirming info better — and not believe everything you read on the web.

Anyway, let's get to Snyder and his obsession with Star Wars because the director had his own response to the false report of the Batmobile theft and it is brilliant. Snyder witnessed the actual "thief" being caught and snapped a photo of the "arrest."

Well played sir!

Again, Snyder obviously loves Star Wars and about a year ago he was reportedly developing his own Star Wars spin-off too. Although this report was quickly debunked by Snyder's reps. But check out Snyder's past mashups...

And here's J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company's response to Snyder.
